Never Mind The Rain! we can still have a lovely time! and we did!, We (Replay Acoustic Duo) kept all our fingers, and toes crossed for the sun to shine on Justin and Kathy’s wedding. They had been keeping a keen eye on our facebook page and saw that we were on a roll for sunny weather on our August weddings this year. They were to be our last wedding in August and we were praying that the weather stayed lovely for them.
The couple had planned an outside wedding at the beautiful Somerford Hall, they planned to arrive from the ceremony and go out into the beautiful gardens, where we (replay) would be playing for their drinks reception and then we would carry on through to play for their BBQ wedding breakfast! Bliss!! but it wasn’t to be! as the British weather failed us and alas we were inside!
However this didn’t phase our lovely couple and how could it! the brilliant Somerford Hall staff were on hand to make the Hall look beautiful and keep all guests happy. We set up inside for their drinks reception in one of Somerford sitting rooms. Right in front of the fire! The guests arrived and could wonder round the hall, to the other sitting room and bar and with Somerford’s great acoustics could hear us playing everywhere!
We then moved into the wedding breakfast room, where everyone could sit wherever they wanted and help them self to the brilliant BBQ buffet, Justin and Kathy had requested we learned ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ for them as this was one of their ceremony songs! so we added this in as they took their seats. They loved it phew! and thanked us for learning it for them.
We took a quick break and then came back to play our second set, Cris Lowis a local photographer and good friend had taken the couple out for some photos by the lake (which you can see below) so we entertained the guests while the couple were away. They were brilliant and we had many singer longers as we play ‘Marry You’, ‘Get Lucky’, ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Forget You, ‘Mercy’ ect. Our upbeat songs went down a storm and the guests went into another room for speeches and the cutting of the cake.
The day was brilliant and the rain couldn’t spoil it for this lovely couple! we hope to see you soon and wish you lots of happiness for your future as a married couple.
