Nat & Tim booked us over a year ago for their wedding in Cheshire, there was no hesitation in what the couple wanted and they booked us straight away for their Ceremony, Drinks Reception and Wedding Breakfast.
So one lovely sunny Saturday morning me and Dan headed out to St Boniface Church in Bunbury, me and Dan were very excited to be playing in this beautiful church it was our first time ever playing a church ceremony! We have played a lot of ceremonies at hotels, barns and country houses but never a church and we were not disappointed when we arrived the Chruch was beautiful and very big which made the acoustics brilliant for playing in.
We always ask our couples to choose around 8 – 10 songs to entertain the guests as they arrive into the church, this isn’t usually needed as it takes less songs before the bride arrives but this Saturday Nat took her time and was an hour late! not her fault at all as her wedding car didn’t show but luckily a lovely guest who provides wedding cars was happy to oblige! and luckily for us we always keep a back up set list just in case to provide the guests with some entertainment as they wait!
Nat arrived and looked stunning in her white wedding gown following her brides maids down the aisle, the ceremony was beautiful and I loved joining in with the hymns before the vows! (always lovely to have a sing along with everyone) Nat & Tim ask for us to learn Alisha Keys “If I Aint Got You” as they signed the register and also if we could play “Little Things” by One Direction after.
We then packed up as the guests enjoyed sunshine outside the church and we moved to Tim’s familys farm where they had hired a huge marquee over looking the beautiful Cheshire country side.
We set up outside for the couples Drinks Reception and played a mix of our more up beat selection of songs as guests enjoyed drinks and canapés, we find more upbeat songs work great after a ceremony everyone is ready for a bit of a sing along but nothing too loud so everyone can still have a chat!
After our 1 Hour performance we then moved in side and set up in the marquee for the couples wedding breakfast where the couple asked us to play 2 x 45 min sets over their dinner.
We played a mixture of our laid back and romantic songs including some of our songs we had played earlier at the church as Nat had requested she wanted to hear them too.
The day was perfect and even though things ran a little late all the suppliers pitched in to make everything run smoothly!
Congratulations to the lovely couple! and we (Replay) hope you have a beautiful future together,
Dan & Jess xx
