James & Becky, got married at the beautiful Ashes Exclusive Country House Barn in Leek Staffordshire, we love this venue, a regular of ours it’s set in the lovely Staffordshire country side, the staff and Steph the wedding organiser are always friendly and always on hand to help out
We headed out bright and early and the weather was looking rather damp so we had our fingers crossed for beautiful weather for them, we got to the ashes and as we were performing for the couples ceremony we headed into the barn to set up on the balcony. The balcony at the ashes is great for us to perform on as we get to see the entrance of the bride and know exactly when to start and stop to work perfectly for her walk down the aisle. We started with a selection of songs from our romantic set, this is a lovely way to start the ceremony as it’s as guests find there seats it sets the scene for the ceremony. James & Becky had asked us to learn “Make You Feel My Love” By Adele for Becky to walk down the aisle to, a perfect choice we loved the way this song sounded and decided to add it to our set list! It worked perfectly as she walked down the aisle and Becky later told us they were going to use our version of the song for their wedding video!!
After they exchanged their vowls we played a couple of songs as they singed the register they chose Lego House by Ed Sheeran, & “Loving You” by Paolo Nutini which the couple had requested especially.
And finally as they left as Man & Wife we played “Valerie” by Amy Winehouse, a great choice as it’s a bit more up beat it gets everyone in a party mood!
Luckily the rain had stopped and all the guests and us (Replay Acoustic Duo) headed outside for the drinks reception, at the ashes they don’t have a license for music outside so we play completely acoustic, this is perfect as usually the photographers like to take all the guests out by the lake and around the grounds we can follow them all!! like musical stalkers!! ha ha We played a 1 Hour and 30 min set for the couple, they were quite relaxed about the set list but asked for any songs we knew by Adele, Emeli Sande, Ellie
Goulding, Duffy, Norah Jones, Jackson 5, Goo Dolls, Daft Punk, Corrine Bailey Rae to be included in the set.
The guests then began to que for the wedding breakfast and we grabbed a quick hello & goodbye to the lovely couple, James & Becky looked beautiful and such a happy couple.
We wish them both lots of happiness for their future together and we can’t wait to go back to our next wedding at the ashes staffordshire in October!
